I am a painter and occasional sculptor, designer and maker other things of interest to me.  I desire this blog to be a place to share imagery, ideas, thoughts, musings, art pieces,  photos, poetry, music, rants and raves, etc., anything with the potential to inspire.

Done by a brilliant 4 year old, now a brilliant teenager.  Clearly a Robin fan.

portraits

I haven't painted people in a while.  I think I was having trouble finding interesting subject matter. Based on below I think I need to reconsider.

"blockhead" 10" X 14" oil on canvas (bad photographer)

"slice of life" 24" X 36" oil on canvas

OFP - Original Fuckup Person (?)

Saw him at SAM.  Too cool to pass up.

That's a fox skin cap, head and all, frontier wear.

"rain" in a rainy city

"rain" 4' X 8' acrylic on board

I was supposed to go golfing but woke up to an unscheduled midwestern thunderstorm. I painted this instead to relieve frustration and disappointment.  Funny it should end up in a Seattle cocktail lounge.

I like rust

"Oxygen 3" 9" X 12" mixed media on board

detail from "Gunslinger" in progress

"DNA 1, 2 &3" 16" X 20" acrylic on board

Seems to make as much sense to me as those blotches they bring into court.

Sculptor friend (crazy bastard above with pool cue) and I collaborated on a piece (Gunslinger below).  He thought it needed bullet holes.  This is a quick video of us driving back from setting up the pieces at 200 yds at the range.  Hurrying so the trigger happy bastards didn't get any ideas.

more stuff

Stuff from around town

A friend's work.  I love the departure from convention, the modification of a thrown piece and the "earthy" nature of the finishes that have so much more to do with the medium with the than the bright shiny glazes the masses seem to be attracted to.  They are better than the images show, her photographer (husband) sucks, but he's great at other things.  Sorry, Raisin Bran.
"Cellular" 24" X 24" ink on board

I was working on this for a while and could never get satisfied so I painted over it and finished it that day.  I named it arbitrarily, sort of.  A couple weeks later the above TIME came out with the stem cell photo on the cover.

You're toast.

Get it?

Bailey Bat.  It's real.  Kinda like Grandpa Munster.
